**Welcome to MDM4UI - Grade 12 Data Management**

This course broadens students' understanding as it relates to managing information and focuses on a culminating project throughout the course. Students will apply methods for organizing and analysing large amounts of information; apply counting techniques, probability, and statistics in modelling and solving problems; and carry out a culminating project that integrates the expectations of the course and encourages perseverance and independence.

**EXPECTATIONS**

**Absences**

Students are responsible for making up work missed during an absence.

- If you are absent on the day of a test, you will be required to write a makeup test your
__first__day back to school. - If you know in advance that you are going to be absent for a test or quiz, you must make alternate arrangements
__before__the date.

**Homework**

Math skills are developed in class as well as during homework & study sessions. Some of the assigned work in this course can be completed in class; however, work that you do not finish in class must be completed for homework. Be conscientious about completing all assigned work. See your teacher the next day about any difficulties.

**Attitude**

I hope you will come to class with a positive attitude towards math! Be attentive during lessons, volunteer ideas during discussions and work quietly during seatwork. Contribute to a positive class atmosphere by coming to class prepared, on-time and with the goal of working to the best of your ability.
